Margaret's March Block

Well ... my month is almost here ... very exciting as this is my first Bee ever!

Please create a mono-color rectangle from your scraps using Victoria's
"Make Fabric: How To" tutorial.
(Any color is fine - warm/cool/bright/pastel - but not a white or a black block.)
Slice your block from top to bottom & insert a 1 and 1/4 inch strip in a contrasting color.
(This need not be a solid color strip but should read as a solid.)
Then slice your block again from side to side and insert a second 1 and 1/4 inch strip using the same fabric as the first strip.
Voila! you have just made me a block & I'm very happy!
I am looking for different size blocks & however many you are inclined to make.
Thanks!

Oh, am so loving this blog site, really beautiful and inspiring, must start making things instead of just taking photographs and collecting china. Love it, will start soon!

This sounds fun, Margaret, and I think it will make a stunning quilt!

P.S. Is that 1 and a quarter plus seam allowances, or 1 and a quarter finished? (It's my first bee too!!)

Cut the strip 1 and 1/4" (this measurement includes the seam allowances) ... the insert will finish at 3/4". Sorry that my sample is confusing ... I tried a few strip widths but liked this width the best.

Yippee ~ the new fun has begun! I love your idea, and it just so happens that I have already got some mono fabric ready to the sliced. This will be a wonderful piece

Want to make a bunch of these. I have a feeling this quilt will be Queen- size.
