Color Challenge #11 :

Bazooka Bubble Bum PINK

This is to me,THEE hardest color to work with...
I used to LOVE pink... but it gets so sugary sweet, it trumps me every time I work with it... Although, I do really like this block I think the BROWN helps kill the sweetness!

I do love pink green and brown together though.   When My daughter was a baby, her room was those colors. People thought, "Why brown in a baby room?"  But to me, pairing anything with brown, makes me so happy. Chocolate brown feels so warm and inviting to me, and well, I do love some good dark chocolate!  So that is also why I used brown for the back ground color for these blocks. Pure, yummy joy!

Perhaps all the PINK I had in her nursery, is why she now hates pink... ;-)  Boo would ONLY wear RAINBOW colored things as this was her favorite "color" (see 4th birthday pic) , until she turned SIX. On her 6th birthday, she woke up and said, "my new favorite color is BROWN." (from rainbow to brown? how does this happen? haha)  Perhaps that memory sticks on my brain til this day fondly... Maybe this is my BOO quilt! It's looking kind of rainbow-y and Brown!

This is going to be easy. Have been making grand daughter quilts (pink is her favorite color) and there are a lot of scraps to work with.

Had some pinks pulled out last night to try in my grape block. Glad I didn't put them away! Nice block, Victoria--you're right, the brown is a great combo with the pink!

I do enjoy Boo stories. It is totally logical to go from rainbow to brown, the eyes needed a change. I'm hoping to do better on the PINK.

This is going to be fun. I may try pink and brown. My little girl didn't want anything pink almost as soon as she could voice an opinion. She liked multi-colors and blues.

Rainbow is still my favorite color!

I think I can do bubblegum pink. Baby pink, not so much...but bubblegum and shocking pink, definitely!
