Color Challenge #10 : GRAPE

I seriously love purple. I did not used to think this... I hated purple most of my life. The carpet in my childhood room with this GRAPE purple color, and only in the last years have I been able to shed that COLOR BAGGAGE associated to this tone.

I walked into a friend loft one time after a renovation and the whole place GLOWED so warm and lovey, then I realized, her walls, which I thought were white, where in fact, LAVENDER!  It changed my perception of the color immediately, and a few years later, when we repainted our loft , which had been all WHITE, I told my husband we would repaint the whole place lavender, her said, "really?" and I said, "Yep!"  and so we did...

Most people do not recognize it as a purple tone, it often reads grey or white, but has such a nice warm glow with out being to Pink etc...Although it's not GRAPE PURPLE, it still feeds into my perception of PURPLE in general.  I now love it...and find I lvoe the made fabric combo I made for this block.
Red, Yellow, Hot pink and Royal blue...perhaps I should have added in some ORANGE too like this below in the painting on our wall!

Also, I know we are heading towards 12 weeks soon, I am extending it to 16 weeks... A few mystery colors to come... colors I had, that I couldn't put a name too... ;-)  can you play along for a few extra weeks?  ;-)

Grape! I've got a box of old Laura Ashley purples, off to look for grape. Can we manage four more colours? - oh yes, I think so!

Another week when I am thrilled - my car is plum colored! I love purple! Will this come back to haunt me? I hope not.

Four more weeks? Only four more weeks?

my oh my I am not sure I have purple in my stash but my niece who is a quilter in training may be able to help me out! she is a purple lover LOL This challenge is super. I have to decide on a pattern. I saw it midstream and now I like everyone elses so have to make a pattern decision. if I had started at the beginning I would have just made a go of it. Loving it though!

Oh, I love purple, but my stash just doesn't work with this. Blue grapes, or red grapes, or just pull out the purple and forget the grapes. I've known for a while that I don't have a good purple collection, and this proves the point. Still love the challenge. Glad to have a few more weeks. Thanks, Victoria.

Hard to believe it's been 10 weeks already. I'm definitely up for 16..or more. 20 is good (4x5 is a nice setting for a quilt..hint hint)

PS - I have lots of purple!!

Purple is a color that I do not play with very much. I must have something eggplant in the stash I'm sure. I am definitely doing all 16 weeks. Wednesday is my favorite day of the week since this started!

Your art looks great against the wall color! Any childhood photos of your purple carpet that you'd care to post?

My favorite part of your post is how you casually announced that would be painting your home lavender, and your wonderful husband's response...my husband is easy-going too, great isn't it? :) Take care, happy moving!
p.s.I've seen that floor before but can't for the life of me remember where!
