Color Challenge #2 : OCHRE

This weeks focus is on that lovely GOLDY BROWN color... OCHRE!
I have to admit that I have a LOT of this color in my stash! And not all of it is undesirable, as this piece below is.  But I felt compelled to use this quite colorful bit of fabric because
I could think of no other use for it, and the challenge to make it seriously look better, well...

I actually wanted to find brighter colors to accent the fabric, hoping it would tone
it down and take some of the attention away from itself! The white seems to
accomplish that. I may make more blocks with this color.
Only because it's a color I really  love...

It's been a color that my STOVE in my first apartment was colored...
an ugly color that has now been rejuvenated and embraced as a "Hip" color
in quilting fabrics, home decor... etc.
And it is in probably every quilt I make...
it's deep, not always pretty but a WARM  afternoon glow!

But is it a color you often use?
Is it a Like or a dislike?
Does it carry Color baggage for you?
Or is it a color you embrace?

Can't wait to see what you make with OCHRE!

Here's my TWO blocks so far...

I DO have some of this color (all the many shades of Ochre).

Fun! Another block about to be born!

p.s. would you consider removing the two-word verification for this blog? It really is hard to deal with.

Hi Julie, Sorry, no... To many spammers without word verification... unfortunately, I can't control the two word thing, blogger changed it to that... I still get spammers with it... go figure!

I have found a glorious Kaffe Fassett piece with ochre background and lots of gorgeous colours in it. Now to find its playmates and photograph them.
