Modified Cubist

When Victoria came up with this challenge, it seemed like a good time to play a little with a modern art style that I like - cubism.

This is a picture I took with my cellphone the day I cut off my long hair since I was turning 50 a few weeks ago. It seemed like a good one to work with, so I did a VERY simple sketch.

The technique I am going to use is called Double Reverse Applique. I took an online course in it a year or so ago and it should work well for this. It is probably going to end up being pretty minimalist looking, but that's okay with me. I had trouble even finding fabric to use where I live and I still want to find some wide wale olive green corduroy for the background, just because . . .

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished panel. I briefly considered this challenge, it's a good one, but decided I have enough on my plate.
