15 min Skyward

After a DNF (sports = did not finish) in the portrait category I am trying - again.
15 min and no resemblance to anything or anybody: I can do this!
I hope.
But I need a plan to make it work for my brain pattern :)
So here are my current self-made fabric blocks of 4.5" made from scraps
Not too bad, but kinda stripey,
so I will take V's advice and use 5-sided starting pieces.
As for the plan:
I love the floating of the 9-patches in this mag pattern
( Skyward Nines by Lise Neer in McQ Oct 2006).

Floating scrap blocks!
That's it for me.
Maybe I won't make it every day,
but 15 min a few times a week.

Got to go play,
Barb in MI

I love the "floating" idea. Can't wait to see how it all works out.

Good idea! I also love that floating 9 patch in the magazine and have saved that issue for a long time. Do you mind if I "steal" your idea?

Love the floating blocks! I may have to steal it, too:)
I don't get in 15 minutes every day either, but it's fun when I do.
