Home is Where the Heart Is...

I just moved from a house I loved to a new house
(which I am sure I will love, eventually).

But for now, I keep seeing it as someone else's home.

So this 15 minute project is perfect.
It is helping me make my house a home.

Here is my first set of 4 blocks.
I am not sure if I am going to let this rest and then do some place mats to go with it.
Maybe? Use it as a table runner?

Thoughts?

Hey there! Lovely, cute blocks...love the heart on the inside of the house blocks, like "love in the home"...so sweet! At first glance I thought you had it hanging over a fireplace, on a mantle. It reminded me of a mantle quilt pattern that I have...anyway I was thinking it would be so sweetly displayed over a fireplace in that way! So that is my thought....mantle quilt! :) Happy sewing!

Hello Katie, I'm so glad you posted about these little houses. I am about to move "from a house I loved to a new house (which I am sure I will love, eventually)."
It will take a while to make this new house my own as there is so much work to do, so I will make myself a table runner like yours. That way at least where we eat will feel like my home. Best wishes from England

I think it would be neat to put little squares of your family printed on muslin with frayed edges all together on the piece. Maybe then it would feel like everyone's home. I'm going to do the 15 minutes (have been actually) don't have a blog yet, but I can still download pics to the site. Your site is wonderful and you're inspiring people to have lots of great moments.

Victoria I know exactly how you feel. We were the 1st owners of our home and we are looking to relocate and like you I do not want to live in someone else's house.
I love your civil war fabrics. You are so versitile. Thank you for sharing and I hope everything works out for you.

Your little hearts are very cute. I'd be tempted to turn those four blocks into a wall hanging. I'd love to look at them every day:)
