Last summer I was introduced to BATIKS, yeah I was slow to the game...
and I very quickly got hooked. they sew, sooo nice together...
I was given these scraps, and I savored every scrap i was given, and made every bit into these
8 blocks...
(thank you Shelly for the introduction and to AMY who sent me her scraps!)
(I did them up good!)
Now of course I have a bin entirely devoted to batiks.. But I have not gone back to decide what to do with these blocks... They sure do look crisp and yummy don't they?
I wonder what will become of them...
This is another unfinished project of mine, which I will revisit when I get back to NYC in the fall...
These were 8" scrappy 15 minute blocks, set in with pre-cut scrappy stars...
pre-cut meaning i went though my stash, ironed everything, and cut them on my accuquilt go cutter... I cut a whole bag of them then got bored... i had to dig this out, because I think about it often... I love this quilt... I need to finish it..
Continue making blocks... Who knows where it will lead you...
try a setting you never have done before...
I dare you!
;-)
happy sewing people!

Looking good. I'm glad you discovered batiks. You make them look fab!
Such lovely colors! Can I show my crazy quilt here? After all, it was your kitchen sink that started my addiction ha ha
I got some batiks to use, thinking of making some art quilts with them.
Yesterday was a lazy day, so I grabbed a bunch of scraps and making a fabric penny mat with them.

Hey V, These little blocks look great! I luv them! Have a great day and happy sewing!
Crisp and yummy...Yes, that describes your blocks. I like the term. Reminds me of the pickles I've been making. LOL
I love the blues and greens with the odd bits that really zing. cunning hidden star in the middle! Really lovely blocks.
Love the batik squares...they really zing!! Do you want more bright batik scraps??!
If we finished all the projects that we have hanging around the world would be covered in quilts...maybe they would absorb all the CO2.
Besides we would have to start even more projects to take their place. HeHe!!
How do I post my quilt pics please?
I've been accumulating batiks lately, too. Yours are looking good:)
Those are really nice batiks. Really happy fabrics. I like the scrappy stars, too. Blue and brown is a great combination.
