magic 15

I'm supposed to be packing all my junk, sewing mess,  Glorious Fabrics and projects,
up to head back to NYC tomorrow, for the season... we do continue to come to our house every weekend, so I only need to fit in the bare necessities... Alas, again, I don't have room for our Guinea Pig crate!  poor Emily!  She always gets put in a box, until we can bring her crate back in...
Well, I did pack MOST of my things up... And I had to do just 30 minutes of sewing...
(I haven't had my 15 minutes or any sewing in about 5 days! )
(eeek! GASP! I know!~ how could that  be!)
So I made three more 13" scrap blocks, cut them diagonally,
and quickly made 6 more total to this large half square triangle project!

I plan to keep going on the weekends, adding a few more as I go.. I'd like this to be a KING size border less Quilt...  I just love it.

See what I mean?  I started with 15-- 13" blocks scrapped together...
Played with them a bit as I went along... came back to them,
cut them into something different,
and it leads to something I didn't imagine at the get go...
I love how a fragmented 15 minute thing, turns into a complete thought...

I've seen some really lovely projects going here, by all of you!!!

I'm So pleased that you guys gave it a shot to see where it can lead...
Don't let your scrappy blocks stop you from yet again,
cutting them a part to make something totally different...

Making the scrappy block is only the first step...

Scrappy center stars... Scrappy borders...
one 6.5" scrappy block turned into stars and more.

I made a scrappy house once... It's now in my kitchen sink quilt...
One day I hope to get back and make a whole quilt like it...

Where will your 15 minutes take you next?

Happy playing and finding out!

Love it all! Really! I hve had such small bits of time this week, I don't know where it all goes. Maybe tonight, LSU is playing, grand-dog is home with his momma and the quilt room is a bit more tidy and neat (if you can call it that) and the chicken salad is ready to spoon on to the bread when he is ready to eat. QUILT ROOM HERE I COME!

You are such an inspiration not to get bogged down with 'doing it right' but just to go for it! And the results are fantastic! Love the scrappy star on orange spots...like a magical sky!

No matter how busy you are, you get so much done.
I really like how you mixed the scraps with a solid triangle.

That orange star is wonderful, and I love the scrappy house in your kitchen sink quilt.

Ooo! I love the dotted background in the scrappy star block! I've been looking for something fun to do with all the dots I've collected. This may be the answer!

Lots of inspiration on this post! You've given me more stuff to think about. Like you, I'm finding it hard these days to devote even 15 minutes to playing. Things are looking up, though, and I'm hoping to get back in the groove!
