Oh I am sooooo excited

I have a completion to show!  Well, actually it is not complete, but I have made something from a set of 15 minute blocks and I am darned proud of actually having made something!  Finally.

It is a series of Christmas presents I am doing, not for anyone in particular.  But I begin with an object like a ceramic deviled egg tray from the 60's or in this case a tea pot from my collection.

I found a book at the library by Maaike Bakker called Cups and Saucers that held a veritable treasury of paperpieced cups, plates, teapots and coffee pots.  I fell in love.

I copied a few treasures and set to work.

This is what I ended up with.
And the leftovers immediately get put into 15 minute blocks.  And I see great potential for the back.  So the back looks like this:

I really love it!  And the lucky recipient will love it too I am sure.  Now to sandwich and quilt it.

glen:  maybe I will make one for me! I have several people clamoring for one, there may be fights around the Christmas tree this year!

Thanks, all. I found some leaf plates today at a 50% off sale and visions of leaves on table runners and placemats danced in my head!

What a great idea, using your 15 mins to make Christmas presents! Love the hen an chich - nearly as much fun as the swissy dog on your blog!
