I'm a newbie here on this wonderful scrappy blog and I thought I'd stick my head in to say 'hi'.
My name's Robyn and I'm an Aussie living in Sydney Australia.
I love scraps and love making scrappy quilts and 'making somethings out of nothings' is one of my most favourite things.
I guess I've done a fair bit of random scrappy over the years but only one finish comes to mind, so I hope it's ok for me to share it with you as I start scrapping with you all.
This one quilt was made through a class with a dear friend.
The first thing we had to do was try and think outside the square, which we finally managed and this was my effort.
I named it 'Breaking all the rules'.
I'm unsure of what I might do here as I sew along with you, but I thought I might just use up the scraps from the projects I am working on and see where I go from there.
I hope that's the right idea.

Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Welcome. I look forward to seeing what else you're up to.
It's lovely - reminds me of standing on a ship as the deck moves beneath you! Beautiful turquoise sea, though!
When you have an idea and no time to play, take a 15 minute break for your self and just sew a few scraps together.... You don't need a full idea to start... Just play make a few blocks, and as you make more, they may start to give you direction... This is about not thinking..., let the process work and you just let it happen... Then after you've accumulated a bunch of blocks, think how you can assemble them in a new way.... Try a new technique, make a quilt in a way you never have... Just see what happens..
