Once again I got busy and have not been checking the blog. While I was away, the mice played! I had to go back a ways to catch V's 30-day challenge. I love it! I'll start tomorrow (Friday). Love all the stuff people have been working on.
I managed to get this quilt put together by raiding my "orphan blocks" box. I have extras, misfits, donations, and just what-not in that box. I don't even know where some of it came from!
I might add a border, but I might not. I'm kind of an anti-border girl, because people expect them, and that makes me want to break the rule and not use one. What do you think? Border or not? (If I do use a border, it won't be a traditional, rule-following border.)

i say use a small inner border of various fabrics, say 2" wide at most...then add smaller odd blocks around it as final border! that doesn't really make it a traditional border..but adds to the quilt anyways! looks great!
I was going to say the same thing as Kristina! Very fun.. esp that little A-Z bit that wound up there!
i love that this is made from random 'found' blocks... and i think it looks so good BECAUSE of that!
I like Krisina's idea too. You have some awful cute orphan blocks and "what not" haven't you?
I so prefer quilts like this without borders... this is so cute!!! I love it! if any border, a good scrappy one! have fun finding your path with it!
You have made me realize that I have a FULL Orphan Box. Got to make a top using them!
The quilt is beautiful.. I do not think it needs a border! It looks great as it is. I am going to have to dig up my orphan blocks and see if I can make a top with them. What a great idea!

Loved all the comments. Thanks! It is so nice that we can inspire each other. When I started quilting I never would have dreamed that I would make such a "mess" like this orphan top, and even would like it! Funny how I have evolved. Fun!
