It's Too Cold For Christmas

We're freezing in Florida. Wind chills in the 30s and it's supposed to freeze the next two nights. Being a native, I don't associate cold weather with Christmas. I may have to travel further South to get in the Christmas spirit. I know we are spoiled weather-wise, but our hair is frizzy every day, so there!

V's retro orange Christmas lights fabric arrived a few days ago and I hemmed and hawed and tried to think of something Christmas-ey. Boy, did I have ideas. Palm trees bending with huge lights, an orange sunset over our lake, grandma getting run over by anthropomorphic orange Christmas lights, etc.

Then in my frozen stupor, I spotted these penguins in my stash. I'll use the striped material to bind, but I think I'll add one more border. Or a penguin head. Does the candy cane help with the Christmas theme? Thanks for the fun, V! I gotta go dust off some real shoes. Flip flops aren't going to cut it this week.

Oh Michele, I am so cold too. Last winter was so miserable, and it looks like we are in for the same this year. I'd move further south, but I'm not sure it's much better unless you go off of the peninsula ;-)

Love your fabric choices & random design! You certainly aced the Xmas orange light bulbs challenge ... just like candy canes come in all colors & flavors.
