January block for the SCRAP-BEE

Hello SCRAP BEE PLAYERS!
This JANUARY BLOCK IS FOR THE SECOND BEE, called SCRAP-BEE

Bee Players, be sure to check your instructions for the correct bee & Month.
(we have two running at the same time now)
I will link the instructions to the person in the side bar
so you can always go to the name and click for the months instructions...
this bee includes:

Victoria, LeeAnn, Jess, Mary-frances, Sara, Glen, Sandra, Barbara,
San-dee,Jorie, Melinda, Cindy, Alexis

I am putting it up early, as we know, Xmas is around the corner... busy busy!

 MY INSPIRATION:
I was playing around with an image of my grandmothers pillow a while back and
thought what a cool quilt that would be to make!

so, there you have it!
Here are the instructions...

Out of phone book paper, or free piece your scraps and use a template
to trim down your fabric into the correct triangle shape.
cut 2 -  7" squares, then cut diagonally in half.  You will need 4 triangles per square

make fabric to cover the triangle shape, and trim.

Cut 2 - 1.5" X 7" strips of RED

Cut 2 - 1.5" X 7.5" of same red

Cut 1.5" X 1.5" yellow square for center
Join two triangles with one red strip, and then do the same for the other...
Join the longer red strip to the yellow square, to the other longer red strip and join the
two pieces together...

Center and trim the block to  10" square...

Please keep them bright and cheery...
THE CROSS MUST BE RED
AND THE CENTER SQUARE MUST BE YELLOW
NO STRING PIECING on the triangles..
try to incorporate angles into your made fabric triangles...
PLEASE NOTE:  You do not need to amke them exactly like I shown you,
notcie the one oon the left... its' wonky...
It's OK to find your own way to achieve something similar....
I prefer not to have them all perfect...

You can really make them however you want,
meaning the red doesn't have to be perfect etc...
this is just one way to give you guidance

as long as you have the red cross and yellow center...
and they are 10" trimmed.

This is just a guide to go by...

Make at least one, more if you feel up for it...

I'll make a bunch  more and show you as I go... have fun!
