playing further

There is a whole lot of playing going on over here...
I have a large batch of these christmas scrapped diamonds,
and am trying many different kinds
of layouts...
adding different shapes to see what will happen to them...

Frankly I like the random all over the place going on above best.. stars ,
well, I've made so many star quilt lately... and I am completely
drawn to that minty green below...

This is what I mean about not having a plan when you make 15 minute blocks...
Let them find their own path...

Keep trying new things to see what will happen..
Follow your instinct to what it needs to be...

Don't trust your instinct?

I'm sure one reads louder to you then some others...
Listen to that voice...

Take pictures of your work and look at it on the computer screen...

It gives you another perspective...

try some fabric you'd never think to use with it...
that's always fun.. like the YELLOW squares above...

And just when you think you have it figured out...

PLAY SOME MORE...

I have more playing to do...  gotta run!

Verrrrweee Interwesting!

I would never have thought to play this way with these particular block thingys. But I like it! My mind is opening and becoming free, step by tiny step!

I took a Quilt University class once a while back, about designing your own stuff. And it was nothing like I thought it would be. She just kept saying, What if?

What if you used black?
What if you cut this apart?
What if you added squares?
What if you used yarn?
What if you overdyed it?

When I got to "What if I started over?" I knew it was finished!

Playing is the most fun. I've got to get back to my 15 minutes... I've been working too hard on trying to get things done by deadlines!

Really interesting! I've made those 6 pointed stars several times..always by hand. Have never put them into anything. I might into one of these 15 minute plays!

Got my orange light bulbs today in the mail! Thanks! Will work on it tomorrow.
