Squeezing in my 15 minutes (or maybe more)

Some of my 15 minutes of playing have included attempts to finish this (click here) log cabin posies project, which originally began this past January.  Since this was one of those figure it out as I go things, I wasn't sure how I was going to attach the posies to the log cabin background.  I choose to just do a free motion, loosey~goosey, zig-zag stitch and let it fray where it will.  Got all the posies stitched in place.    Now I've decided to make this a queen size quilt, so what to do about a border.  I made a couple of these blocks just to see what might happen.

Or should I go with this look?  I kinda liked the way it looked when I snapped this picture with a charcoal and white tile floor in the background. What do y'all think?

I like the black and white floor tiles as a border! Great contrast and the simplicity helps with the busier center. I love the other blocks (especially the purple polka dot center!)

good luck playing! and letting it grow! I can see big simple strips and sticking in a few random blocks like you made... letting the fabulously busy middle stand out on it's own... Show us your play, keep going, it's GORGEOUS!

I agree with the comments. wonderful...i like the simple black and white with two or three random blocks that you made cut into 2-4 pieces and thrown into the board...great and fun too...

Really like black and white around (not necessarily tile pattern). Wonder how some of your center flowers would look flowing onto & off the border (rather than formal blocks) in one or even two spots?

I agree, love the black and white border. And Margaret's idea of having some flowers spill into the border is wnderful too. Great design and love your colors!

So very gorgeous. Love the black white tile behind it. Bold, yet simple. It really shows off the center. Bonnie

Gorgeous! Guess I'm in the minority as I think the tile behind it distracts from the inside beauty. It's too dark and bold. LOVE the main quilt part!!!!
