from one idea to another

I took these little 15 minute blocks along with me up to my friend,
Jackie's this
weekend, thinking I'd be making more of them.
I also brought along my MARY/lady of Guadalupe fabric to play with....
When I got there, Jackie had a circular orphan block that she gave to me,
because she thought I would enjoy playing with it...

Boy was she right! Within 5 minutes I already had the Mary(Guadalupe) cut out, and was asking
Jackie for some newspaper so I could piece the red points behind the circle!

I also scrounged out my (above) 15 minute blocks and well,
they found  them selves in the playtime mix as well,
but alas, I decided I didn't like the yellow polka dots,
and I wanted more RED in there...

So I made a whole bunch of smaller blocks with red centers,
and used the other few blocks to fill in around the bottom...

I have more to do on this... It's not quite done yet... Needs more  applique flowers etc.
I have to say, the project I planned on working on... gotta left in my bag!
