Every year members of my quilt guild (Green Country Quilters Guild--Tulsa, OK) give the outgoing president quilt blocks.  The outgoing president gets to request what kind of blocks she wants.  This year Melanie requested 9 1/2" house blocks.  It could be any kind of house, but it had to have green grass and a blue sky.
I got busy and made her this:
It had to be signed so I signed it in the chimney smoke.
We had a bit of a snow storm and the guild meeting got cancelled so I'll have it around another month until I can give it to her in February.  Maybe it will inspire me to play some more.

great pieced fabric for the sky and grass. Lovely.
I love house blocks and intend to make some at some point. I especially love the detail in yours. What a unique idea for your signature!
Very cute!
It is really fabulous! So clever to sign it in the smoke!
