off and running

Beth sent me one of her little houses the other day to play with,
today I used it for 15 minute play, in between quilting...
4 sessions of 15 minutes through out the day today has gotten me to this star...
I first started by making fabric to piece around it...and then I had a light bulb moment...
It wasn't a house, it's a school house!
It has little apples around it and stars like this in the borders....
And  promised a quilt for the lower school library at my daughters school.
(she's in middle school now! LOL!)  So I grabbed a fat quarter of BOOKS,
and wrapped that around it, and now I am off and running...
I would like to make some words to go around it, like READ,
or the name of her school, or maybe both... etc.... We'll see...

I ran to the mail box today, but no luck on more SCRAP-BEE blocks...
;-) maybe tomorrow... It's so fun to get mail!

What a great idea! I am so sure she will love it! I love the idea of words around it. Did you make that wedding ring too?

Love the school house block. I am a retired teacher. I just might have to make one too. I put your two blocks in the mail yesterday.

Love what you've got going there - interesting isn't it, how ideas are cooking in our subconscious and then pop! out they come! LOVE the dark star points!

This is a very cool way to use that little house. I do love stars.
