Red checks

Thanks for all your comments on my previous post. That block was 12 inches square. I've added black and white curved batik borders, and incorporated the rest of the red and white checked triangles in a saw tooth border. I'm thinking I might rip out the one on the bottom right, which is falling off the block. I got a pile of the red and white triangles in a scrap exchange from Lisa so this seemed like the right place to use them. I'm playing entirely out of the scrap bin here, so that's why there's a variety of backgrounds behind the borders.

Love how the black borders the block and all the HST's! (half square triangles!) this would make a great BEE BLOCK! and a very beautiful quilt!

well, my turn doesn't come until September, so I'm waiting to see what others do before deciding. is there enough contrast from there?

I think there's enough contrast. I don't think you should go to the trouble of taking out that corner HST either. Leave it and see what happens next!

Yes, the contrast looks good...it's pretty and a bit 'different'...which is good too!
