A start on the intuition block

Sue at From the Magpie's Nest and I are doing a round robin intuition quilt.  We agreed to start with a block around 12 1/2 inches.  I started to work on it today.  I decided that I am going to construct my intuition quilt from this bag of scraps.  Scraps of all shapes and fabrics.  Most of them are small and some of them are strips, but some are wonky pieces.
Here they are dumped out on the table.
This piece of fabric has been following me around for the last couple of weeks, popping up here and there when I have been looking for a inspiration for different things I have been making.  I decided that it is time to use it and so it became the start of my block.
I love bright, rich, deep colours and this piece lets me play in that field.  Here is the first pass - when I finally remembered to stop and take a picture.
You can see I have some nice curved fabrics there - these are going to be fun to sew :)  A bit more playing around brought me to this.
I've bordered it with white strips just so the full effect of the block is visible without the hanging strips. I also photographed it as a square so I could get the whole thing in, but it is still a block on point.

I'm going to leave it for tonight and look at it again tomorrow when there is a bit of natural light.  I know from experience that I'll lose more than I've allowed for when I start to sew it together so I might have to add on.

Sue - this block may be ready to send to you this week!

It looks wonderful Janet! I'm going to have to start a second intuitive block for you to play with. The first one has to stay here ;- )
