Background, Victoria style

I needed a black background for a little quilt and being smack down in the middle of a scrappy love fest I wanted to piece one. I had a few black scraps in the box in which I never seem to make a dent even with the Intuition Quilt in progress.
Instead of just piecing the scraps together I thought of Victoria’s post and cut the scraps this way and that so I had lots of angles to play with. I laid the pieces out so that the different fabrics were sort of evenly distributed and started piecing them together, straightening up edges as needed.
I’ve got to admit I lost track at some point and had no idea where I came from or where I was headed, but I got all the pieces together and it’s big enough. It sure took a lot more time than anticipated, but was a fun exercise and the background will be much more interesting than just a few rectangles or strips pieced together.

Thank you for the inspiration, Victoria!

This is so much fun! What a fun way to create a backing for a quilt. I was wondering how to back an intuition quilt and didn't just want a plain piece of fabric. Very cool.
