New pics

Boy, I sure have gone crazy with my scraps.  I spent one afternoon sorting them for the "play" strips and another bin for strips for my spider web quilt.  I also put larger strips in a separate tub for make blocks and a 4th tub of larger pieces that could be cut into blocks or strips.  I have so enjoyed the freedom of just grabbing a fabric and stitching away.  Some blocks look are pretty and others look like I have just thrown up.  But when they all get organized on my design wall, I am sure they will form something beautiful.  I slapped them all up just to see what I had going here.  I figure it will take me about 3 days to rearrange them 600-700 times before I put them into rows.  I am thinking of adding strips around the blocks in either black or red.  I am up to 25 blocks.  What do you think about the strips?

I like the idea of putting black around all of them.

Oh, I took a workshop from Helen roddy brown last year. The thing she said was that she always used purple around anything that had a ton of colors already. She felt that purple was the color that pulled it all together.

I also think red works when you have lots of colours.

I encourage everyone to get away from strips... they look great, how else can you make them to get scrappier...

Keep on playing!

I would just mash the blocks together, no sashing at all. Or make long pieced strips like Sujata's Bee blocks start with and use those for sashing!
