Purple Borders

I got to spend several hours in the studio today. I finished up a couple of small projects, then started looking at the intuition quilt. I decided to sew together the parts that were up there that made me happy together. Then, I started cleaning up the scraps from the small quilt I made with my granddaughter, and got waylaid by the purples. Who knew this would happen. I love purples and rusts and golds together, so this really works for me. I put a few light pieces in this border just to keep the light dancing throughout the quilt.
I know where I am going for the next border. I have a few 15 minute blocks that are 6.5 inches. I am going to make several more, then alternate them with some odd strings I have been making as I go along. I am feeling really good about where this is going. It is 29 x 32 right now. I want it to be lap quilt size when it is done.

I love the purple. It is such an under used color and has so many personalities. It looks wonderful.

I love how you are putting this together. The colors just flow so well. I especially like the peak of soft teal in the hsts towards the bottom. excellent~

The purple is perfect for this quilt top. I love the lightness and darkness in that border. You are right about it making the light dance around the quilt. Your intuition is spot on. I loved this when you first started it and I am still loving everything you are adding. Can't wait to see what is next.
