On Friday, things looked so promising, spring seemed so close..
And then this morning I woke up and saw snow out my window.
March is my month for the SCRAP Bee and I had been toying with a few ideas for my blocks
but with this morning's snow, I knew exactly what I wanted.
Let's appreciate the last few weeks of winter and make blocks in
shades of white.
As you can see, my definition of "white" is pretty flexible so creams, beige, prints, and greys are OK.
I even used the back side of a piece of light blue.
One pop of color (i.e. a yellow scrap) is welcome, but please keep it tiny!
Make your block from your preferred scrap piecing method: V's 5-sided shape, free pieced, foundation pieced, paper pieced, .. whatever works for you.
I'd like the block you send to be 5.5" unfinished and please sign and date the front.
If you want to use freezer paper to stabilize the block before writing on it, that's fine. I just wrote slowly..

Thanks Bee gals!

What a lovely idea! I will have a whole new attitude about snow when I see those tiny posies peeking through.
Oh that poor little crocus- it's a great inspiration for your month though! I've been collecting white and cream scraps already, perfect for this block!
Just recently started thinking about collecting whites and creams...can't wait to make the block!
This is going to be a beautiful quilt. I look forward to seeing what everyone makes.
lovely with the whites.... it would be a great quilt... want to see the end result...
Hope you would like to spare a little bit of your time for my new post, it’s something different I hope you will enjoy …

Ooh, I've been wanting to try something with "white" scraps. This will be fun!
Can we send more than one?
Nifty, i'm happy with whatever number you send, of course!
Great idea for your block Jessica! I knew there was a reason I joined that neutral block of the month club...then didn't make the quilt! ;-) I'm off to find those fabrics...
This will make a beautiful quilt. I just spent a good part of a day sorting my scraps. I have a bin filled with "white" scraps. Some are off white. I will make your block and try to put it in the mail this weekend.
Well, beebee you are a step ahead of everyone! Pays to be organized sometimes.
Love the idea. It's going to be gorgeous.
Hi Jessica
I made your block. Love the "white" quilt concept.
I will mail the package Monday.
