Love the colors you put together. The fabric is exciting when mixed with the others. If you want it into a square, just add triangles to the sides. I am not sure if this was what you were asking for.
lovely colour combination, make some scrappy material with the leftovers and use this for your triangles.
You could cut the first block diagonally and put the triangles on the sides of your second block to square it up if you wanted. These look great

Hi Kelley~Way to go on trying new things! One way to make your block into a square is to add half-square triangles. There are lots of sites with instructions on how to do the math (like this one http://www.ctpubblog.com/2010/08/03/quilting-tips-setting-triangles/ ). Make sure to cut the triangles big enough! :) Then, center the long side of a triangle on each side of your block and stitch. I love Nathalie's idea too - if those triangles aren't big enough - add more fabric! Enjoy~

slash it up? cut again? sew it a back together?
I like the play! not sure what your aiming for on making it a square... A bigger square?
All these ideas! I want to keep the diagonal view the focus-it looks better to me that way, but I need to "square it up", so I can join it to other squares/rectangles. I think the triangle idea might do that; I'll try it this weekend and see how it goes. Thanks again for all your encouragement!
