And white leads the way from winter into spring..

Forgive my wonky photo.  I had limited options to lay these babies out and snap a picture before my son ran in to whip them off the coffee table.  I had tried a couple of times, but I couldn't for the life of me get them to photograph well in my poorly lit (east facing) sewing room, especially on a backdrop of my Warm & Natural design wall.
anyway, I love them.  36 wonderfully white 5.5" squares.

Thank you so much to all the Scrap Bee ladies who sent them to me.  Opening each package filled me with surprise and delight.  That's one of the best part of online bees though, isn't it?  Getting a nice package in with all the bills and junk mail..

What's next for these you ask?  Ideas have been brewing, but I'm kind of curious to know what would you do with them?

Well that answered my question of if mine had arrived safely ;)

I think they look wonderful. Me personally, I would probably do one of two things... Either whip up a few more so that you could arrange them 6x7 (or even more if need be), and choose a bright color--perhaps red since I see some red specks in more than a couple blocks-- and use that to make sashing and a border... OR add bright corners to put these on point, like square in a square, as that would both make the block bigger, and make the whites stand out a bit more.

nice ideas jorie. thanks for the input. (and thanks for the blocks!)

The other half of the fun is looking for your own blocks in there! I see mine!

I would put them in a white on white setting and make them simulate a Snow Throw! LOL.

I think it is interesting you put them on a black and gray bargello though to display them for us. White is difficult to photograph, I have black dogs with white markings and that is never easy to get a good photo of.

I love them. i can't wait to see what you will do with them.

I am fascinated by the seams shadowing through....wish you could keep that look somehow.....dark batting perhaps?

Oooh what fun you'll have deciding how you want to put this together. Enjoy!

glen, that's the area rug in my living room! i've often thought of trying to imitate it in a quilt, but never got very far.

I like the seams showing through also. The great thing about this is the texture. How about making it into a window covering? The light showing through would be fabulous.

They look great all together! I'm drawn to square-in a-square blocks right now, I think these would look great it that block with neutral and yellow corners, especially stripes!

Love them! My first thought was to make some color centers and surround them with the neutral blocks. I can't wait to see what you do!!

nifty~ cool idea! too bad my husband doesn't appreciate decorating with scraps yet. maybe something similar on the back door window will warm him up to the idea over time, and then I can redecorate, 15 Minute style.
Alexis~ funny how you and V both mention yellow.. i think I'm leaning that way too.
when i first asked for white blocks I thought I'd make a (mostly) white quilt, but now.. I don't know. I think it needs bold color..

These are so lovely! remind me a bit of the luscious baby quilt that V. recently made, with the gorgeous quilting - maybe something simple, to not take away from the beautiful simplicity of these blocks? Enjoy!

These blocks are sweet ... even romantic ... & I saw something similar in a magazine used as a curtain in a basically white room & it was ethereal ... beautiful. If they were mine & I was going for a quilt, I would not go bold ... I would try bright white to frame & highlight. Good luck ... what fun!
