Hi everybody, I'm Sharon, I'm a pretty new quilter (been quilting for a year or so), and new member of the site. I loved the making fabric out of nothing idea and asked to join a few week ago, but have been sitting on the sidelines unsure of how, when, where to begin. I finally just had to dive in - I went home on my lunch break and pulled out the scrap bin and just started sewing stuff together. I realized it's not quite as easy as it looks...and I sewed myself into a corner a few times, but I did produce something by the time lunch was over. My scraps were kind of big because I had been tossing the smaller ones, not realizing how valuable they were! And some of the pieces were remains from already-assembled borders. Anyway, here's my first piece of "made" fabric. Those are 12" floor tiles so the piece is over 12" already. Any suggestions on what to do next? Maybe I'll slice it up and reassemble it tonight. I'm looking forward to lots more scrap therapy in the weeks to come!
