Inch by Inch

Here's my 12 x 12 for my swap partner. I knew I wanted to do some free formed piecing a la Ruth Mc Dowell. I began by making monochromatic pieces of fabric and then drew a free formed flower on a piece of tracing paper which I used as a guide only. I liked having the tracing paper square at the end to see where I would trim or where I needed a bit more. I hope my partner enjoys it! It was a challenge and fun to make.

Now to get it quilted, bound and in the mail.
