Excuse the awful picture here... it has been crazy busy in my world lately, and all the sewing and picture taking I have managed to squeeze in have been late at night!
This is the floppy version of my AAQI piece... called "Memory Basket." This is dedicated to my Nana, who had senile dementia. At the end of her life, she loved to sing old songs from when she was a girl and remembered scores of them. But she couldn't remember if she had eaten recently. So, some of the memories (flowers) are in the basket and some of them have fallen out.
I am looking forward to quilting it by the weekend. We are even supposed to have something called "sun" so I may be able to take a halfway decent shot of the finished quilt under natural light!

This is wonderful. I love the memory basket idea.
very special and touching... glad you found some SUN and sewing time!
I too love the memory basket idea...and your symbolic use of the flowers is so touching.

I, too, am touched by the memory basket idea. It's great to honor those who are struggling in this life - who knows where each of us will be tomorrow.
Wiw! Fabulous! glen
Oh, I have been trying to post this question for a few days now, but with comment problems it has been resetting.
Miki, do we hang on to our pieces or send them in?
