Do you know what PLAY is to me?
Self discovery.
Happy Accidents that leads to Beautiful creations.
I learn something every time I put two pieces of fabric together.
(and I have been sewing since I was 5, there is always more to learn)

To me, Play is what sets off those electric creative pulses
and sets me on my path
on the adventure of making a new quilt.

I made this cheddar block above, first, and found through  play
that I liked what was happening to the red ... so I went back and tried it again,
making  fabric that might reflect the effect I wanted...
below is my second attempt.... I love it!

(And this is just how I work, how ever you do is super OK with me too... )

I have found that the
as I work and play...
 I don't need a pre-planned destination
to make a successful quilt.
I listen to myself and what I see, and I follow my instinct.

If you don't listen, well then, you may not like your final result.
Tune into yourself to find out what happens next...
Play, try, make mistakes, learn from them and keep on going.
Make more quilts!

There are many perspectives, many techniques you can try.

Anyone who knows me, or what I do, or how I work, knows that
I am always the first to encourage you to try
something you have not tried before, and quick to say,
"What else can you do to it to make it YOU?"
How else can you construct something that YOU haven't tried before...

Never stop asking
what if I...
try some squares over here,
what if I try some saw tooth
what if I set them on point
or free piece them all together
what if I ....
what if I sash them
what if I add more made fabrics
what if I cut it again, and again,
and what if I LOOK to see what I can learn from each step...

one step at a time...

I LOVE what I do. It brings me joy each and every time I make something.
Successful or not, some may not like them all, that's OK,  MAKE MORE QUILTS!

I do what I do to fulfill my need to be creative, and to give back, through my
work or my charity project.
I share my joy and try to share with everyone...

I have SOOOO enjoyed watching what you all are
creating with the blocks of the month,
and I look forward to PLAYING MORE to see where they will
go and become new unique quilt that you design.
Keep sharing your process, mistakes, and how you overcome
we all learn from each other.

You all are so inspiring!

Enjoy your process,
Find your adventure,
and try something new.

How are you having fun today?

You are always SO inspiring to me. You are right, play and fun is what generates creativity. I SO appreciate all that you give us--those many encouraging nudges to be more of who we really are.

I do love that cheddar. The second pinwheel is great, too. You are such an inspiration to me. I really appreciate all that you share and do with and for all of us. Thank you very much.
