Disappointing mail call

Somewhere between Lynn's home in North Carolina and mine in Winnipeg, Canada, the blocks she sent for the Sept. round of our bee went missing. All that's left are a few blue threads on the adhesive on the envelope flap. Nothing else in the envelope. No blocks, no note. This is the first time Canada Post/US Mail has failed me in block exchanges. Lynn's blocks were lovely -- scroll down to her Sept. 14 entry to see them, but I'm frustrated I won't get to enjoy them in my quilt.

You can submit a lost parcel form to the post office. Include the picture of the blocks and maybe you can get them back. :)

thanks for the info. is that the sender's job or the recipient's?

So strange, those threads weren't there when I sent it. It looks like it was opened and they were removed. Even stranger that the envelope is intact with no tears or rips. My poor little lost blocks. I'll get to work on some more!

Oh Brenda, I can imagine your disappointment and surprise opening an empty envelope!

That is so sad! I work at textbook clerk at a high school and several times I've received items through the mail which have been delivered damaged or empty. There is always a note from the post office, saying where and when the mishap occurred. Usually it happens in their sorting machines. Since I know that happens I always put my online swap blocks or beads, etc. into a zip-loc bag, and include all of the addresses, sender and recipient, inside the bag. . . Then, I put that into an envelope and send that in a padded envelope. Seems to be a lot of extra effort, but has prevented any losses.
