A post compiling many 15-minute creative spurts...kinda like an old Model T just warming up on a fall morning...

I had been pondering different patterns for my block for V's Valor quilt and a star seemed like something fun to play with once more.  In the photo I am cutting out the block while at a dodgeball tournament.

This is the block in the current stage.  Today I am hoping to have some minutes to piece it together and add "made fabric" to the blue and red areas along with white stripes to creat the appearance of stripes of a flag.  Sean has left on business for the next several weeks so small increments of time are going to be HUGE for me...luckily V gave us a deadline so I will complete it soon.

This made-fabric border was created as an exercise in "making do MacGyver style. Needing a project and forgot my quilting suitcase.  Duct tape was in the trunka nd some scraps so a little sticky palette was born.  It didn't work in the end but was fun for practicing and creating in a pinch.

Quilted and ready for final touch....branches stitched to the tiny quilt and then bands and a branch for hanging...may take two 15 minute sittings but hoping for 1...

And then on to a new project in QuiltMania Children's special issue.  Have you spied the Carousel pattern with flying geese and pinwheels.  Will be a riot for using tiny scraps and in the theme of this blog...I can't wait to start a new project!

Love, Em
