My Mauve Block

I didn't have a perfect mauve in my stash; this was the closest I could find (fabric on left). I added this gray calico (vintage) because the little flowers seem mauve-like. Then I added bright stuff to liven it up.

I'm not sure I like this busy background piece, but I'll see what I think after I make a couple more blocks.

Carol that is a wonderful block! I finally found my mauve (it wasn't hard - actually laying right out in plain sight - probably shouldn't admit that - oh well..too late)and can't wait to give it a whirl.

Nice block, Carol. A good start to our game.

Wow! You really did go jump right in! Good for you! Great looking block, the turquoise and yellow look really good with it!

Without the bits of yellow and the turquoise this would be a dull block. Bravo! Wish I had time to play along because the way to learn about color effects is to do it.

The day after i posted this, I was driving around and suddenly thought, "I put those corner pieces together wrong!" I wanted them turned around.. I'll fix it and re-post soon.
