Bright Yellow... hmmm!

Okay.... yellow is not part of my Color Vocabulary but I had a feeling it was coming up in the challenge very soon.  I woke up early on Wednesday morning and excitedly went to see what Victoria had in store for this week and there it was.... Bright Yellow  (looks darker in the photo). I had two pieces of BY in my stash but they had too much pattern for my starter fabric.  So off I went to my favorite quilt shop to find the "Quilter's Linen" jumping out at me from all the other yellows.  My eye just went right to that spot on the shelf.

I put together some options and really liked the orange, deep aqua and magenta with the bright yellow right away so the only choices I had to make was to select a green and purple.  I played around a bit and came up with......

.... the  Chambray (a fabric favorite). In went the purple/turquoise and the meadow grass which had a touch of purple and orange.

Here's my completed "made" fabric.  I added more of the yellow to brighten the block a bit and all the fabrics next to the yellow really stand out.

I like how it turned out.  While I'm still not crazy about yellow, I will be adding some to my stash and incorporating it into future projects.

I like how it turned out too. Yellow is my favorite color. But I have a hard time incorporating it into quilts. Some day perhaps I'll make an all yellow and white quilt.
