Rust finally done!
I was so excited when I saw the new color, rust. But then for days struggled as I couldn't find fabrics that worked together. Finally I happened upon the small flower piece in the middle of the above block and set off in a whole new direction, which resulted in the above block. The rust fabric I used is lighter than what I was originally try to use which you can see below on the left. Maybe my problem was that my first rust (fabric on the left) wasn't as rusty as I originally thought.
Finally, I want to share my made fabric which started out as strips left over from my Internaational Robin project. I am so happy to get to used these fabrics together again.

GORGEOUS, Willa!! That focus fabric is lovely, and your made fabric ... WOW! I also like the purple with it, and would never have thought to use it with rust. What wonderful play.

Your rust block is stunning! I also love the made fabric. The purple does look amazing with the rust. Who knew? I am two colors behind now. Hopefully, I will get caught up this weekend. Wish we lived closer so we could play.
Really great focus print. Love the purple. It is wonderful with the rust.
Nice job! Just curious...is your rust a batik? I found most of my good rust options (including what I used) were batiks.
Yes, the rust is a batik. I am so surprised at how well the orientals are mixing with batiks and so many other fabrics. I would never have thought to mix so many fabrics with the oriental fabrics!
This is a beautiful piece of work with great colour matching. Your made fabric strip at the end is a little work of art.
