Bloomin' Fabric

I'm working on another fun improve quilt.  This one with a flower theme.  I saw these flowers in Material Obsession Two and knew they needed to be part of the play.
So I made fabric with bits of bright fabric.  Cut out the shapes using the template found in the book and stitched them on green backgrounds.  Oh I'm getting so excited to see this garden grow.

Oh I really really like these. Are you having any problems turning under the edges of the made fabric?

I made templates out of cardboard from a cereal box. Cut the shapes a generous 1/4" bigger and then ran a gathering stitch around the edge, pulled it to encase the template, then pressed the edges with steam and starch.(this worked best with the center piece the two edge pieces I could do it on the outer edge but the inside edge I clipped the curve and pressed little by little using a stilletto so I didn't burn my fingers. When the edges were set I popped out the template, placed them on the background and top stitched in place. Let me know if you have questions.
