Here's what happened to June

First ladies, let me say that I have truly enjoyed making blocks for all of you,  you have challenged me so much in a most wonderful way.  I am very sorry that I fell short in getting a block made and posted for June, though I had some really cool ideas that I will someday finish. Some of  you know a little of what is happening in  my life...but here is all is.   My 14 year old daughter is currently experiencing mental health issues.  She has tried to kill herself, has run away from the treatment center, attacked myself and the rest of the family and she has cut and burned her arms until they look like..I don't know, just awful.  We did not even suspect she was having any troubles beyond the normal teenage angst-y stuff until Jan.  when her world and ours spun completely out of control.  She has been hospitalized four times and is currently in her second treatment center.  We live in the middle of nowhere California, so many hours have been spent in the car getting her to services. Many more hours have been spent worrying, crying and just trying to make sense of her decline or on the phone trying to find her the care she needs.  Add in another teenager (the oldest) who is very upset over her sister, an active and way to smart for his own good three year old, some health issues for me and it's...my life.  My spare moments are spent sewing if it's a good day or collasped on the couch gratful for a moment of peace if it's a bad day...sadly I just haven't had many spare moments especially since mid May.
   Be happy and be "piece-ful".
   Jenny

Wow just wow.If you where anywhere near me I would give you a big hug , make dinner and buy you a gift card for gas! I know how that can add up when you are running back and forth from the middle of nowhere. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers if that is ok with you.

I know how alone you might feel while going through this with your daughter - You are not alone - I've been there. My heart goes out to you and your daughter and the rest of the family. It is not an easy journey and there are no 'quick fixes'. Remember to take care of you, it's important for the rest of the family.

Jenny I know how you feel. I went through something similiar with my daughter. Thank goodness it turned out okay. Now we are going through much the same as you with my grand daughter. The medication she is now on seems to help.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs

So sorry to hear about this.
May you have some piece-ful moments for yourself as you and your family weather this storm. As you know, sewing (quilting) is good therapy. hugs, K.

I do'nt know you but I also am all too familiar with mental illness in families. The organization National Alliance for Mental Illness is terrific and can offer help and support. Go to their website www.nami.org
And keep on sewing.
Best wishes, Wendy
