purple...

For some reason purple conjures up scents and tastes for me- lilac bushes but also Baskin Robbins "Oregon Blackberry" ice cream from my childhood. On a more stinky note, there was a time in the 80's when every woman wore Dior's "Poison" perfume which always smelled like grape bubble gum to me. Participating in these challenges has really revealed color likes and dislikes that were previously subconscious. I have very little purple in my stash and could not say why...

Here are the added fabrics with the starter on the lower left.  deep ink, royal blue, some hints of red and brown were added to the purple in the block.

I love the block pattern you have been using and your choice of fabrics for each color in the challenge.

The light pink, purple and bright blue stripe and zig zag fabrics are really effective in creating movement and depth in the made fabric. I adore that focus purple with the splashes of turquoise and smeared in yellow. This is an amazing, happy block.

Very berry indeed! I lie the Flat tone of the purple aboriginal kaffe dot with the sugary sweet purples...and the bits of yellow pop nicely!

OMG, I sooo remember that Dior fragrance and am offended in my mind *sigh*. I can remember walking throught the mall when they were giving complimentary "spritz's". Ugh. No thanks! Your block, on the other hand, is nothing short of gorgeous!!!!!!!! Love the batik that was your inspiration. Can't wait to see your finished quilt!
