Color Challenge: Maroon

Color Challenge:
Maroon

I really had to dig to find anything this color... what use to be used so much in the 80's with forest green and mint, has now become a color we'd all like to forget.  But I could not resist taking those very colors and playing with them to see if I could bring them up to date. I do believe this is one of my favorite blocks!
Will you still find this color in your stash?

Oh this is going to be tough. Maroon is some place between rust and mauve. Not sure what the stash will yield for this one.

Yeah maroon! I was hoping maroon, teal, salmon, and orchid would be among the remaining colors. I know this makes more than 16, which makes a nice 4x4 arrangement. Maybe 20 is a good number too.

Another trip down memory lane for me. I drooled over the maroon Buicks in the 40's. My bedroom was pink and maroon in the 50's. Oh yeah, I loved it then....

I was actually sorting my pile of strips an hour ago, and found four maroon pieces in different lengths and widths. Amazing!

Hmmmm this one might be a toughie for me. I have reds, but I'm not sure any of them can be called burdundy.

Hmmm, maybe I need a nice glass of red wine as a color reference?
