A Light Start

I pulled out all the lights in my stash, dove in and while dinner cooked and the washing sloshed around.

Discovery....  my lights/ neutrals are sadly lacking in whites. I really really have never bought fabrics with true white backgrounds. Not even any scraps from little girls dresses. And those quilting elves found me more pinkish bits than I ever spent good money on I'm sure.

I have a hard time finding fabrics with a white background that aren't overloaded with objects so that the white doesn't really show through. I call the ones I like "widely scattered prints on white"--they used to be all over the place (uh-oh--like 20 yrs ago :--(((--my age is showing!! ) I think your quilt looks nice and soft and cozy. Lovely, your blocks look warm and inviting.

They are lovely! My white-lights have a lot of color pop to them, just the way the stash goes I guess. Funny what you find out when V weaves her magic challenges!

Your blocks are beautiful, very comfy and peaceful looking.

I think that is an interesting revelation! Especially with the fabric choices now, where sooo many fabrics are white based. Your blocks look great!
Goes to show you anything can be a light! Great job!

They look really nice...I also dont veer towards purchasing prints with white backgrounds...solids are hard for me also, but I am getting better at using them.

I hardly ever buy lights, and almost never buy true whites. This challenge is an eye opener for me, too!
