Challenge Fabric

                                                    Finished Project

                                                          Process

Am I among the few that like this fabric?

I didn't want to cut it into pieces.

Instead I was able to cut 3 similar rectangles
to preserve the flower/plaid combo.
Wanting to bring out the blue in the flowers,
I started with some Jay McCarroll fabric.
Next came made-fabric using blues, greens and red touches.
My plan was to use the made-fabric and the flower/plaid to make placemats featuring a star flower pattern.
I really disliked how this looked and switched to a new plan.

Fussy cutting some recently purchased fabric of santa angels,
I surrounded them with darker made-fabrics leaning much more towards
browns and greens.
Much better!  When I ran out of the green plaid used in the border, I
started leaning toward black/red fabrics.

This year's challenge with last year's orange lights challenge.
Loving them both!
Happy Holidays!

Wow! I didn't realize this fabric was so Christmassy. It's perfect with your Santas.

I love what you did. I haven't started yet as I had massive dental work done and I'm hurting...lol Love seeing what everyone else is doing. Hugs

Lovely Christmas mats. Yes, I also like the fabric and am still not wanting to cut into it yet.
