A Sign of Spring!

I had to laugh, reading Julie's post about her fear of cutting her precious fabric (laughing WITH you Julie, not at you!) - we all have our fears, and I guess I was a little afraid to post my first finish, using Nathalie's amazing scraps! I wanted to make sure my block was blog-worthy! haha -

So, in honor of the FINAL arrival of Spring, here is my Pansy block!

I made fabric for the petals - so many fun fabrics to choose from!  Then I used yellow for the middle, and blues all around.  I just had a little strip of the fun lime green spiral print, which I inserted with curved piecing, and appliqued some dotty leaves.
Thanks to Nathalie for the abundance of lovely fabric - I have many other projects brewing - and thanks to Victoria for this swap.  Even though my sewing room is off limits for a while (being repaired after a bit of a flood), it doesn't take much space to play with scraps!

Love your pansy. It indeed looks like spring. Only wish it was here in Nebraska. It 30 degrees and spitting ice crystals this morning. As they say here stick around and the weather will change in an instant. Maybe tomorrow will it will be spring.
