Scrap Swap - New York Blooms

Hi everyone - at last I have made a start on blocks using the delicious fabrics which Helen sent to me and tried to approach this in a different way to the larger piece posted before, decided to start off with a five sided piece of fabric as shown in the book by Victoria and my intention was to try to use  larger pieces of fabric this time and  one of the two New York fabrics in the collection from Helen. I went for the one  below trying to create the impression of a flower.

So far only one block completed and I have used slightly larger pieces of fabric this time, but I need four to make a small hanging - I just hope I have enough of the black NY fabric for another three blocks!

Just before posting this I caught up with posts and see that Victoria has a similar four block piece posted  from three days ago. Promise I'm not copying!!!!

Once again I have to say how much I love this process, really love it and intend to make two quilts, probably not too big, for shows later in the year.

Have a good weekend and Helen thank you again for the lovely scraps!

Not to worry...more NY fabric is on the way. So nice to see Manhattan subways in bloom!
