MINI Update

Here's mine so far! It is 12.5" right now. I have stitched in the ditch on my machine around the parts of the tiny made fabric that I would not be able to hand quilt. The rest of it, I will hand quilt. It will make for a great airplane project!

I put together a little video for you to see how I worked with the tiny fabrics...  Please know that this is how I work, and you may prefer another way to press etc. This  is what worked for me.  Depending on how TINY of scraps you use, you may need to press differently. Like, pressing everything open... Know that when making made fabric on this small scale, you do need to trim you seems to a 1/8"... and a very tiny stitch length will save you a lot of frustration... Be very patient with it... Don't rush, it is harder than you think, working this tiny...
Also, when I pieced the yellow/orangey setting fabric to my star, I left the seam a true 1/4", so that I could press it where I wanted it to go. IF you trim that short, it will NOT stay in place...

My blocks on the center of the star are 1" finished. So the entire middle square is 3". Teeny tiny! And... I am totally in love with my little quilt... Just might have to make another!
(I used Michael Miller Cotton Couture Solids to make my quilt, cotton batting, and my own red GRACE from SONNET on the backing...)

Tutorial is here or at top of this page under tutorials...

Now I have my sewing bag, and threads ready to go to Market and Festival!
...and a really cute project to work on in the air! ;-)

Here's what's coming out at Market! YAY! I'll have them in my shop on my website soon!

I'm off to Houston,  for MARKET and FESTIVAL. If you go to Festival and see me around, grab me and say hi!     I might not be posting until my return, after Nov. 3rd.

So Please POST your work and inspiration. Show us how you approach the project, your choices etc...
This is where we come to see your inspiring work! We want to see how you get from A-Z, not just your final outcome. ;-)
If you label your post  "Miniature Challenge" then we can pull up all the posts... A label is already made, when you are ready to label your post...

INSPIRE US!
...And PLAY!
(It's more fun than work!)

Thoughts and comments appreciated.

I will be often on FB... So find me there to stay up-to-date on all the Market/Festival fun!

Wow those are tiny crumbs. I have made a start but my crumbs are not that small. Will try and post my progress shots later today.

SERIOUSLY ADORABLE!!! I can't believe how teeny tiny those pieces of made fabric are in the centre of your star! I only recently got your book, but I'm itching to have a go once I get a couple of other things finished :)

Cute, cute, CUTE!!!! I was so lucky to win the box of Aurifil 12wt thread from Quilters Take Manhatten. I've just been leaving the full box open on my cutting table to admire your colors.
