This is made entirely of my made material. I have a drawer full but have recently used up a lot of the brights in a quilt which is still in progress. For this one I pieced together my 4" low value squares and then cut the letters out of a couple of my 12" squares. I cut up the remainder of those squares to create the border. The letters are hand appliqued onto the pale background and I have included some embroidered flowers and also free motion quilted with a flower motif - a first for me.

I love the combination of fabrics. It's a great word–I hope it keeps you happy all year long.
The embroidery flowers made me smile
Just seeing SMILE,makes me smile! well done!!
It's great how it does make you smile when you read it! So sweet!
Luv your made fabrics!
Smiling is always in style!
Your hand applique is really special...and not so easy with made fabric!
Love how you used the color made fabric and the neutral made fabric to yield the 2014 word! Sometimes I have to remind myself to smile!
Sweet ... your details make this a beautiful quilt.
Beautiful! Hope you have much to smile about in 2014!
