April and one for me

The boys went to bed early and my husband was at the gym long enough for me to make TWO blocks. One for april, and one quick one for me.

Lauren, I have to apologize to you.  I have had your block made for a while but I haven't been able to get to the post office to mail it!  Canada Post has such rigid guidelines for size and weight now that I make sure I take everything in to check that I have the right postage - and I often don't.  The little parcel is all packaged up ready to go and I will get it in the mail on Tuesday.

I was going to wait until I got it in the mail to post a picture for you but I laughed when I looked at the block Beebee made for you - hers and mine are a lot alike!  And I decided I'd better post a picture for you now.

Beebee, you and I need to consult on how you did your circle.  I ended up hand sewing mine because it was giving me lots of grief!

Lauren in the meantime perhaps your boys would be entertained by this pictoral about space.  It is in Microsoft Power Point.  I hope you can open it and play it as it is quite spectacular.

When I copy this link into the internet file line, and then push enter, it opens the power point file on my computer.  It doesn't open as an internet page, but as an actual file on my computer.  I hope you can open it and play it as it is quite spectacular.

Thank you New Bees!

The Blocks have been pouring in, and I don't even know what to say, i'm so amazed with you all! They are so beautiful, and you are all so talented. Its great to see these blocks in person too, I'm picking up hints for my own made fabric. (I need to use a smaller stitch, etc)

This morning I showed the boys the blocks, I wish I had the video camera out from the start. Wesley was so formal with his praise, its like he's been taking hints from Ryan Gosling. http://handmaderyangosling.tumblr.com/ "This one is really nice" "this one is beautiful" "I really like this sparkly purple fabric." Then he and grant started laying out the blocks for me. Just like I do, moving htem this way and that, and switching, and switching back. Wesley sweetly allowed for Grant's suggestions, but wasn't happy about it. I DID make a quick video, zero editting, and certainly it won't be as cute to you as it is to me since it's my kids, but its here:



Grant wanted to wear the block with a ric rac saturn.

I made some big pieces of made fabric last night so I am ready to start the april block; hopefully my upcoming blocks will be much improved with my new modifications.

I did get them done in March.  Mailed today.  This quilt will be so cute!

Crescent Moon
