Aqua stars

It's amazing what we are all doing with our colors - I'm seeing so many different combinations of color that are all so pretty.

Aqua plays well with so many different colors - more than I thought it would. My fabric for the large star:
The fabric in the background is white. I wonder why it shows up pink? I tried to adjust it in my iPhoto program, but couldn't.
I thought primary/bright colors would look good.
Still pink. Hmm.
So here's the 12" star:
And the Kona White looks white.
Here's the fabric for the 6" star:
Now the Kona white looks a bit more like white

I used the colors in the print - red, pink, orange, green, and white:

Here's the small star:

Aqua and Maroon Challenges

Aqua challenge - LOVE this block! I've always loved this color, and this daisy fabric is just too cute!
Maroon challenge - this was tough, as I owned just one maroon fabric, the batik with pink and lavender. Not a fan of maroon - reminds me of my school colors, maroon and gold...loved the school, not the colors!
I have been loving this challenge - I usually pull LOTS of fabrics, starting with lots of "matchers", but usually editing the mix down to only about 6 or 7 fabrics. I like the overall look of my Minnesota Maroon block!
