Some Progress

Two weeks ago I posted my white blocks

with the made fabric crosses.

By themselves they seemed too white for my taste

so I made some negative crosses.

;-))

Then I played around to try to find a third variation.

Here you see a large white cross.

;-(

Now it's moved to the middle with some bars.

;-(

It'll be a few days before I play some more.

;-(

Double cross

This is the result of making double crosses. I have included the first ones made of just two fabrics (hmmm, a future project), the bottom of the three improv blocks was made using free-pieced fabric, which I thought was too busy to show off the crosses and the top two with free-pieced strings. It was definitely fun and, of course, went way beyond 15 min as it grew. I don't think I am thru with crosses and want to play some more with them.

Today it is supposed to snow most of the day...perfect for staying in my quilting room. Bonnie
