If any of you belong to quiltvillechat, there is a new picture one of our members sent in showing her
1500 crumb blocks!  That would make a lot of quilts!

selvages and crumbs

Just ran across this fun little quilt picture.... I made the quilt by sewing selvages to dryer sheets then bordered with crumb blocks........so much fun...........15 minutes at a time.  This one went onto to be donated to QOV and was gifted to a young injured female marine.  Happy sewing

Doll quilt for Lily

these little blocks finished at 5.5 inches so it should be just right to wrap up a dolly.

                                  Happy Sewing.......thanks V for the inspiration :0)

Crumb quilts

Crumb quilts for my dear friend's kids......
Micah, Jordan and Evan.  I've made them quilts before but Mom has never let them "have them" these are just for them to snuggle with in front of the TV .....those others are being saved for "good".
They were delighted that I gave them right to them and by passed Mom and told them they can do whatever they want with their quilts!

Simple wonderful!

I see some great things going on here... I haven't gotten back to sewing since my vacation........ well until last night.......
and you all have inspired me...well that and my VBF dropping me off pounds of scraps :0)..........
In any event I play for a while last night and vowed to spend 15 minutes ( at least) a day sewing but also......
15 minutes a day getting my sewing room back in order!  Wish me luck on both fronts.
And tomorrow......some pictures too :0).  My DH gifted me with a Ipod touch and it has eaten into my time these last few weeks too :0).

progress

I've also taken inspiration from others....I have a large pointed nose but decided that a few lines here and there gets the message across :0)  ......today I will probably add a crumb border and try to do some quilting.
How is everyone else coming along?

Okay, here is my picture

While we were  waiting for the train back to NY  I had my husband take some photos of me to try and get one for my fabric portrait.  Well this one has my eyes open and a smile and the rest.......well scary!
So now at least I have a start point......and I must finish up Lily's portrait too :0).......end of June right?

start with my granddaughter?

This is a picture of a picture from my son's phone.  Actually he took the picture, emailed it to me, I emailed it to my husband who printed it out on plain paper for me to use as a pattern.
The shot has interesting shadows and may make a good first attempt at trying a fabric portrait......what do you think?
